Our design process starts with 1-1.5-hour onsite consultation, during this time we will discuss what you want to achieve, overall project brief, design preferences, lifestyle, and budget considerations. This is an essential step in the process to ensure we have a comprehensive understanding of your preferences and needs before embarking on a design project.

If you are not sure you need a complete documented garden design and are interested in a more DIY approach. We also offer a one-off consultation onsite where we can provide spatial design ideas, planting suggestions and ways to improve your outdoor space.

Consultations for Central Victoria and Melbourne are $300.

Concept

Post an initial consultation, we will map out an over-arching design concept design for your project.

The concept stage includes rough sketches, mood boards and some plant species ideas to ensure we are headed in the same direction visually before we confirm any detailed aspects of the design.

Design

At the design stage we will take the agreed concept and develop this out into a bespoke design. This will include a hand rendered plan drawing as well as elevations of the site, this also helps to clearly express the intended outcome.

Documentation

Once a detailed design has been finalised, we will create a master document which will include a precise layout for hard landscaping, plant positioning and any other important details such as irrigation, power, and drainage. The documentation pack will include all the information needed to plan your garden installation.

Nb. Every garden and every site is unique, this individuality will determine the design package fee based on size and scale of each project.

For clients who already have a garden layout or design that works for them, we also offer a planting design service.

Choosing plants that complement each other both structurally and climatically can be a challenge for the novice gardener, we can help by creating a planting design of species that work well together and are suitable for your garden.

A robust planting design and selection is essential to a successful garden, this can be an area that is neglected in contemporary hard-landscaping focused gardens.

We specialise in naturalistic modern Australian planting design influenced by our changing climate, we focus on species that are both climatically appropriate and sensitive to sustainable water use.

We love the use of unconventionally paired plantings, using native species alongside exotic plants, this makes for a garden that looks English in its origin but is rooted in an Australian context.

Plant selections start from $1000.

Once the garden design has been finalised and documented, our team works with licensed landscaping practitioners to bring the design to life.

We work with our network of trusted contractors to carry out installations of any hard landscaping and construction elements. Our team will oversee this process to ensure everything goes smoothly and according to plan.

Once the garden structure is in place, we will be on site to place all the plants alongside the contractor to ensure the final vision is brought to life.
