About

Based between Central Victoria and Melbourne Luke Mortimer is known for his eclectic style and unorthodox approach to both design and gardens. With over 20 years in the design industry, Luke has an extensive knowledge of design in interiors, architecture, and landscapes.

After completing a Graduate Certificate in Landscape Design – first class honours – from The University of Melbourne’s Burnley horticultural campus, Luke has shifted the focus of his design practice to plants and landscape design.

Luke has a passion for creating gardens that are sustainability minded, focusing on water conscious plant selection, microclimate gardens and working with salvaged and recycled materials in alternative ways to and reduce the impact on the environment.

Working and living in Central Victoria over the past 10 years, Luke has focused his practice on unconventional paired plantings, using native species alongside exotic plants and garden designs that are both sensitive to sustainable water use and the future Australian climate. This makes for a garden that appears English in its origin but is rooted in a modern Australian context.
